15 - Blessings Through Betel Leaf

It so happened one day. As usual Abjibhai went to the temple. As soon as the prayer was over, everyone went home.

Abjibhai was standing in front of the idol of God. He was absorbed into the Darshan of God. God had been watching His Anadimukta. Abjibhai was immersed into the idol of God.

He felt that the idol of God was extra ordinarily divine that day. Maharaj was smiling at Abjibhai. ‘Maharaj is pleased today’ thought Abjibhai. Maharaj began to talk to Abjibhai, ‘Abjibhai, How are you?’ Abjibhai was puzzled, ‘Who is talking in such a sweet voice?’ He looked here and there. Maharaj spoke again, ‘How are you? Abjibhai!’

Now Abjibhai realized that such a sweet voice could be of none other than Maharaj! He gazed at the idol. He asked Maharaj, ‘O Lord! did you speak to me?’ Maharaj replied, ‘Yes, I spoke to you! How are you?’ Abjibhai was elated. He was full of joy.

He responded in a voice full of joy and gratitude, ‘O Lord! I am fine!’ Maharaj instructed, ‘Abjibhai, now you must begin the work for which I have sent you.’ Abjibhai dutifully replied, ‘Yes, My Lord! I will obey your command.’ Abjibhai bowed down to God. Maharaj stretched His hand. Abjibhai stared.

Maharaj offered, ‘Here, take this betel leaf as my blessings.’ Abjibhai couldn’t believe his eyes. He froze like a statue. Maharaj spoke again, ‘Take this it is for you.’ Abjibhai felt blissful. God Himself had offered him betel leaf.

Maharaj blessed him, ‘Abjibhai, You are my Anadimukta, therefore you are eligible for my blessings. For others, it is rare to have my Darshan!’

Abjibhai returned home feeling blessed and blissful.
