29 - Grace Of Murti In Lieu Of Worldly Example
On one nice evening Bhaishri was going home from the orchard. On the way, he saw one small girl carrying a bunch of grass. Bhaishri told the girl, ‘Dear, You have dropped your coin.’
The girl threw down the bunch of hay from her head and looked for her coin. She asked, ‘Bapa, where is the coin?’ Bhaishri indicated, ‘See! It could be lying that side!’ The girl went there running. Coin was not there.
She came back and said, ‘Bapa, it is not there.’ Bhaishri exclaimed, ‘No! Then it must be lying a little farther.’ The girl went running and looked around everywhere for the coin. Bhaishri sent her here and there a few times. She eagerly went around to search the coin.
At last, she was exhausted and complained, ‘Bapa, There is no coin! You simply took me for a ride! You made me throw down the bunch of hay, also.’ Bhaishri called her, ‘Come here! She went to him.
Bhaishri caressed her head lovingly. He took out a coin from his pocket and gave it to her, ‘Take this.’ The girl refused, ‘That is your coin.’ Bhaishri spoke, ‘How much trouble did you take to look for a coin? How attentively you were searching for a coin!’
The girl agreed, ‘Everyone would look for a coin.’ Bhaishri asked, ‘Have you ever made such effort to attain God?’ The girl confessed, ‘No, Never!’ Bhaishri explained, ‘If we make an effort whole heartedly to attain God, He would be pleased and would appear in front of us.’
The girl asked innocently, ‘Really? Bapa!’ Bhaishri assured, ‘Yes, definitely, He would appear in front of us. Always remember this incident that Bapa made you run around to look for a coin and later gave you one coin.’
The girl inquired, ‘If I remember this incident, what shall happen? Bhaishri promised, ‘I will help you to have the Darshan of God.’ The girl bowed down to Bhaishri. Bhaishri suggested, ‘Come, I will help you to lift the bunch of hay.’
The girl went home happily. She always remembered the incident with Bhaishri even when she grew up.
Bhaishri helped her to attain the Darshan of God and kept his promise.
