Once, Mama went abroad, He visited the house of a Haribhakta. His children were doing homework. Mama noticed that both the children kept the notebook sideways while writing. Therefore, their writing was not in a straight line. Mama asked, ‘Why is your writing not in a straight line?’ The children replied, ‘We do not know. Our handwriting is like this only.’ Mama explained, ‘Because you keep your notebooks sideways. If you keep your notebooks straight, your writing would be in straight line.’ The children asked, ‘In which position? We couldn’t follow.’

Mama arranged the notebooks properly. The kids tried to write, but they couldn’t find it convenient. They said, ‘Mama, we do not feel comfortable writing in this way. How could we write by keeping the notebook straight?' Mama asked for a paper. He kept it straight and wrote 'Jai Shri Swaminarayan' in beautiful handwriting. The children praised his handwriting, ‘Wow! How beautiful your handwriting is!’ Mama explained, ‘My handwriting is straight and beautiful, because I keep the notebook straight while writing. You can also try to write accordingly. Slowly you will learn. Your handwriting will also become straight and beautiful.' Then, Mama was busy talking with Haribhaktas. The children wrote for some time with their notebooks straight. They did not find it comfortable. Therefore, again they turned their copies sideways and began to write. Mama noticed this. He said, ‘Oh! once again you are writing with your copies sideways?’ The kids asked, ‘What happens if we keep our notebooks sideways?’ Mama replied, ‘I will explain to you. You cannot write in a straight line if your notebook is not kept straight. Right?’ The kids agreed. Mama explained further, ‘Crooked handwriting is the symbol of disorderliness. Bad handwriting indicate that the person is disorganized in other tasks also. Good handwriting creates good impression on a reader. Do you know that from one's handwriting, the personality of the person could be known. We can find the characteristics of that person. A person having good handwriting is organized in his life. And an organized person becomes successful in his life. Good handwriting is very important in life.’ The children cried out, ‘My Gosh! How important is handwriting! It seems whole life of a person could be revealed by handwriting.’

Mama said, ‘You are still young. If you practice regularly right from your childhood, you will definitely improve your handwriting.’ The children promised, ‘Mama, Now, we shall write properly with our notebooks straight. Please, bless us so that we can learn it properly.’ Mama blessed both the kids.
