48 - Fortunate Child

Once, a couple visited Mama for his Darshan. They carried a small child with them. The child was learning to speak. Immediately he went and sat next to Mama. Mama carressed his head. Mama was talking to the couple. The child was looking at the rosary in Mama’s hand. Every few seconds, he would touch it. When the child touched it, Mama’s attention got diverted there. Again he would continue. Again the child touched the rosary. Mama looked at him. The child spoke in his sweet and not very clear language, ‘Give - Give.’ Mama took out sugar cube from the cupboard and gave it to child. The child shook his head to refuse. Mother of the child said, ‘He does not want sugar cube.’ Again the child spoke, ‘Give -Give.’ Mama asked, ‘What does he want?’ The child pulled the rosary from Mama’s hand. His mother said, ‘Mama, he wants the rosary.’ Mama said, ‘You should not take it.’

Mama tried to give him a coin. The child again shook his head to refuse. Mama laughed. The child held the rosary and continuously spoke, ‘Give Give Give.¬’ Mama was delighted. He gave the rosary to the child. After having rosary the child sat down quietly. Mama said, ‘This child is a very advanced soul. Therefore, he likes rosary. Otherwise, a child drops everything seeing the sugar cube. This child will be a great devotee of God when he grows up. He will be wise and clever.’ The parents were full of joy by having such blessings for their child. And the child received the rare gift which no one could have attained - The rosary of Mama with his blessings.
